The educational series "IDP Councils: From Adaptation to Impact" is designed to support the development of Internally Displaced Persons Councils in Ukraine. In eight episodes, experts cover all aspects of IDP Councils' activities: from legal foundations to practical tools for influencing local policy.

 

You will learn about the structure and powers of the Councils, partnership opportunities, development and monitoring of local programs, strategic planning, and effective communication.

 

The educational series was created by the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation with the support of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine, for the Diia.Education platform.

Episode 1. IDP Council: The key to effective dialog and change

In this episode, you will learn about the Councils of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP), their legal status, tasks and opportunities. We will look at their structure, the rights and responsibilities of members, and the key areas of their work. You will understand how IDP Councils can influence local policy and improve the lives of IDP. Whether you are an IDP, a government official or an activist, this series will help you to effectively interact with IDP Councils in your community.

Episode 2. Effective interaction of IDP Councils with partners

In this episode, you will learn about the key mechanisms of cooperation between IDP Councils and various partners. We will look at the work of government coordination offices, the UN global cluster system and the work of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. You will receive practical advice on how to participate in coordination meetings, interact with clusters and use humanitarian response plans.

Episode 3. Creating effective local programs to support IDP

In this episode, you will learn how to develop and implement effective local support programs for IDP. We will look at the legal framework, powers of IDP Councils, types of programs and stages of their development. You will receive practical advice on planning, implementing and monitoring programs. If you are a member of an IDP Council, a government official or an activist, this series will help you create effective mechanisms to support and integrate IDP into the community.
