Inclusion and Accessibility in the Work of the National Police of Ukraine

How the police can work without barriers: respect, sensitive communication, equal opportunities and support for every person

Experts: Tetiana Lomakina, Vitalii Pcholkin, Olena Ivanova, +5

This educational series focuses on barrier-free practices and accessibility within the work of the National Police of Ukraine. Its goal is to help police officers act with respect, empathy, and understanding towards every individual — regardless of their abilities, age, or life circumstances.

Across four episodes, the series explores the key principles of equality and inclusion, professional ethics, identifying and removing barriers, and developing sensitive communication skills. It serves as a practical guide on how to make police work accessible to everyone, strengthen public trust, and create a safe environment where every person feels valued and respected.

The educational series was created by UNDP in cooperation with the National Police of Ukraine for the Diia.Education platform, within the “Inclusive Recovery Support for Resilience and Human Security in Ukraine” project, with financial support from the Government of Japan.
