Digital Skills and Online Safety

Educational series on essential digital skills: data protection, spotting fakes, and staying safe online

Experts: Anna Myshyshyn, Vitalii Balashov

This educational series will help you feel confident in the digital world.

You will understand how your digital profile is formed and who collects data about you. You will learn how algorithms shape your news feed and why it’s important to step outside the information bubble. You will learn to recognise fake websites, scam calls, deepfakes, and attempts to hack your accounts. You will also learn how to safely use online banking, messengers, public Wi-Fi, and AI-powered services.

Each episode focuses on real-life scenarios and clear action steps: what to do if your account is hacked, how to respond to a data breach, how to verify information during a crisis. The series builds digital literacy as a practical skill — staying calm, checking information, not rushing under pressure, protecting your data, and respecting others’ privacy.

The educational series was created on the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine within the DIA Support Project, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine and funded by Sweden, for the Diia.Education platform.
